Family Rooms

Interior design is about having a beautiful home you want to enjoy. It's not about putting decorators tastes upon clients nor does it have to mean throwing away the old and bringing in the new; it can be just adding a little color, rearranging a room or just providing a couple of new accessories. Interior decorating does not have to mean complete renovation.

Bathrooms

As you live in your house throughout the years, do updates periodically.  If and when you decide to sell your house at least you won't be trying to complete last minute renovations.  So, do the upgrades you have always wanted to accomplish and have your family enjoy the benefits of your labor.

Dining Rooms

Dining Rooms are the place to enjoy a good meal.  By keeping in mind the function of this room when  shopping for  furniture, artwork and accessories you will be more decisive when making your decisions.  Be aware of whether the items you are choosing are something you want around when eating a great hearty well cooked meal.  Appetizing is key to setting your dining room.  Beautiful colors, sturdy furniture and dramatic draperies make for a pleasant sensation for eating.

Kids Corner

Remember make the room easy for them to clean up and easy for you to only assist. They should be able to destroy the room at play time, which is what it is for; however, they also need to be able to clean it up. So set a room to be functional for them and not so cute you have to do all the chores to keep the room somewhat tidy. Don't expect a kids' room to be just right; be fair and just insist that it be neat.

Living Rooms

Your living room: the first impression, the meet and greet area.  Here your guests are welcomed into your home.  Lets face it this is where we interview our new guests and determine whether they will be invited back.  This room can be very formal or informal whatever your choice.  However, functionality should be part of the equation.  The living room has long been determined to be off limits,  just a place to walk by and look at....the invisible corded rope.  It is best to use your entire home, your paying the mortgage so  why not use every square foot. Consider making the living room an inviting place for everyday life, as well as, a place for those special family events.  It's "ok" go ahead and take the step to break the living room "velvet rope" persona.

Kitchens

Pick and choose your battles.  This can be a very costly change.  Plan…Plan…Plan and be sure the kitchen remodel takes care of all the bothersome idiosyncrasies.  The remodel should make food  preparation and kitchen cleanup a positive experience.  Making meals in your new kitchen is now a pleasure instead of a chore.

Bedrooms

Well the whole house is almost complete and usually the last room to be completed is your bedroom.  Make this a respite from the rest of the house.  A home away from home, a place for you to be an adult and have the peace and quiet you deserve. This is where you get to do what is not the norm in decorating and try some "out of the box" ideas…just for your enjoyment.  Be creative and let your imagination be your guide.
